If you have a water filter attachment in your water reservoir, remove it, and set it aside. [1] X Research source

Microfibre cloths work well for removing dirt and calcium build-up. Continue to scrub the water reservoir until all the visible signs of dirt are gone.

If the reservoir feels wobbly, take it out and then slot it into the machine again. If the reservoir isn’t seated correctly in the coffee machine, it won’t work.

Empty the water from the mug between each cycle. Do not use a portion pack while you are flushing the machine with the water-only cycles.

The portion pack is sometimes called the “K-cup”.

The funnel tends to be wedged firmly in the portion pack holder. Pull firmly on the funnel to extract it from the holder.

Avoid using very hot water, as this can melt the plastic parts in the holder and funnel.

Leave the handle open after you have placed the holder and funnel back in the machine. This makes it easier to access the entrance needle. The holder will snap into place when it is correctly inserted into the coffee machine.

If you can’t see the brewers head, check that the handle is lifted.

Don’t place a portion pack in the machine when you run the water-only cycle.

If you have a water filter attachment, remove it before pouring out the water.

Microfibre cloths work well for this, as the fibres trap the dirt and debris.

Leave the mesh under running water until all the debris have been cleared from the filter.

Empty the cup between each brew cycle.
