PFL 8 will see Rory MacDonald and Dilano Taylor face off in welterweight action. The winner of that fight faces the winner of Sadibou Sy vs. Carlos Leal. In heavyweight action, Ante Delija faces Renan Ferreira. The winner of that fight faces the winner of Juan Adams vs. Matheus Scheffel.
MacDonald was supposed to face Magomed Umalatov, but the latter could not secure a visa into the U.K. Scheffel was supposed to fight Denis Goltsov, but Goltsov is also dealing with visa issues.
MacDonald made his pro debut in 2005. “Red King” is a former UFC welterweight title contender, known for his battles against Robbie Lawler. After a stint in Bellator, where he became Bellator welterweight champion, MacDonald joined the PFL in 2021. He is 2-3 with the promotion. This year, he beat Brett Cooper via submission but lost to Sy via unanimous decision.
Taylor made his pro debut in 2019. “The Postman” made his PFL debut in February and is 2-1 with the promotion. His last fight was a loss against Magomed Magomedkerimov.

Sy, 35, made his pro debut in 2013. Joining the PFL in 2018, he is 5-4-2 with one no-contest with the promotion. Sy is 2-0 in 2022, beating Nikolay Aleksakhin and MacDonald. Leal made his pro debut in 2012. An LFA Welterweight Grand Prix winner, Leal joined the PFL in 2022 via the Challenger Series. He beat Korey Kuppe, Chris Brown and former champion Ray Cooper III to advance.
Delija made his pro debut in 2011. Joining the PFL in 2021, he is 4-2 with the promotion. Delija beat Matheus Scheffel and Shelton Graves this year. Ferreira made his pro debut in 2013 and joined the PFL in 2021. He beat Jamelle Jones via knockout but lost his last fight against Klidson Abreu.
Adams made his pro debut in 2017. A former UFC and Fury FC fighter, Adams fought in one fight for the PFL this year. He beat Sam Kei via TKO in June. Scheffel made his pro debut in 2012. The former Dana White’s Contender Series alum made his PFL debut in 2022. After losing to Delija, he beat Bruno Cappelozza in his last fight.

The 2022 PFL playoffs continue on Aug. 13. The event kicks off at 12 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. BST with the prelims followed by the main card at 2 p.m. ET | 7 p.m. BST. Rory MacDonald and Magomed Umalatov should make their way to the cage before 4 p.m. ET | 9 p.m. BST, depending on pacing and how long the other playoff bouts last.
After that, there will be post-event qualifying matches.

In the United States, the prelims of PFL 8 will begin on ESPN+. The main card will air on ESPN and ESPN+.
