While the usual slew of future Hall of Famers makes up a good chunk of the top 10, the next generation of stars are quickly climbing up the rankings. Young guns nursing injuries, specifically Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz, have the potential to be among the best quarterbacks in the league, and they could be the players that guys like Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers eventually pass the torch to.
As always, there’s plenty of steady, veteran talent in the middle tiers (Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, Alex Smith), and there’s plenty of true breakout candidates, as well (Jimmy Garoppolo, Patrick Mahomes). And, of course, there’s the eternal question of when and if Andrew Luck will return from his shoulder injury. In short, there’s plenty of talent to be had at quarterback, so whatever strategy you go with on draft day can be the right one – if you get the right guy.
